● Argumento (Script) is a publication edited by Cine Clube de Viseu regularly since 1984. Created with the aim of promoting activities and fostering debate around cinema, pedagogy and artistic creation, it became, especially from the 2010s onwards, a reference editorial space: from a membersʼ bulletin it turned into one of the only/last printed Cinema magazines. Over the years, it has published essays, interviews, critical texts and original artistic works, featuring contributions from authors such as Edgar Pêra, Anabela Moutinho, Manuel S. Fonseca, João Mário Grilo, Maria João Madeira, Fausto Cruchinho, Carlos Losilla, Luís Nogueira, Rita Palma, among others. In partnership with international publications — such as Transit – Cine y Otros Desvíos — it has also ensured the publication of texts previously unpublished in Portugal.
● In 2017, I took over the graphic design of the publication. After four issues, in which I established the structural framework and tried to recover the amateur typographic charm from Argumentoʼs first decades, we arrived at 2018 with decisions made for a more solid and easily editable project. The center pages remained on recycled paper, but the cover began to be printed on a paper with higher weight and gloss. This series covers the issues published from 2018 until mid-2022.
